So I've got a plan, an organized plan, for Bible journaling. So tell me why I can't get a plan for scheduling and keeping a calendar? Grrr. I swear I go through calendars like candy! I buy one, use it for a few months and then trash it. Seriously folks, this is a problem. Last year I bought the 2007 Franklin Covey pages for my planner, only to find out that I'd purchased the 1-page per day version and I absolutely hated it. I simply refuse to mix my work life with my personal life, and my personal life does not have enough going on to fill up a whole entire page for each day! Besides that, I really need to see an overview of the week. So I bought a pack of 2-pages per week at the local office supply store, ditched the 1-page per day pages, and slipped the weekly pages in behind the old tabs. Only problem - and this is a problem for me - they don't match. The calendar pages do not match the tabs. Ones blue and tight and very official looking. The other's maroon on grey and rather plain and boring. We've got narrow ruled and wide ruled in the same mix. Ugh. I can't go out of the house if my socks don't match perfectly. I can't sleep if the quilt on my bed isn't perfectly perpendicular. So you can see how this would be playing with my mind. And it's only January 8th! What to do, what to do?

Oh, I feel your pain. For the first time in a LONG time, I am using a calendar system that works for me. It's the Busy Body Book - I linked to their main page, but you can also find them at Amazon.com. (Although, through the main page, their 2006/2007 calendar is 50% off right now.) I know calendar systems are so personal, and everyone needs something different, but this one is fitting my needs right now -- which is good, because in my sleep-deprived state, I can't remember appointments from one day to the next!
I can see that might be a problem if the pages don't match the tabs. And mixing wide ruled with narrow might make me crazy!
Wish I had some idea to offer but I'm still looking for something for this new year for myself.
I've been wanting to do more of a "Bible journal" idea too. :)
Katrina took the words right out of my keyboard! I do feel your pain. Only I am having trouble finding the right binder that I like. I had one w/ a magnetic clasp, but it wouldn't lay flat when opened. So now I'm using a small 3-ring binder. There's a lot of personal stuff in my little binder, and I keep thinking the kids are eventually going to find it. Oh well. By about August I should probably come across one that works! Good luck looking, and let me know when you find one that works for you. You know I always have to copy you!
For the sake of your sanity, pitch it all and start over. Go find exactly what you want...it is out there somewhere!
Then go talk to your shrink, pastor, best friend or whomever and deal with your perfectionist behavior...It never helped me but it might help you! ;)
I'm absolutely no help, but I just wanted to say I feel your pain! The way you described the quilt, you sound like me :) That would totally drive me nuts if they didn't line up or the tabs weren't just perfect. I'd probably really have to seriously considering just shucking the whole thing and looking for another, better, perfect solution. I wish I had one to offer, but alas, no such luck!
Let us know what you find!
Its funny how you see it, versus how I do. I refuse to try to live my life in two pieces, it's just my one life and so I have one calendar. When I try to have one for work (the store) and one for home I forget appts, etc. So I have one. I love the Franklin Covey - pricey but worth it. Now I carry the one I did a post on a few months back. Not nearly so professional looking - but it works well for me. My trick is just to remember to look at it every single night before bed so I know where we need to be tomorrow.
